On the Naming of Sculptures
All sculptures are assigned build numbers, in the form of YYT-NN where YY is the year, T is the type and NN is the sequence number of that type for the year. Types can be
F for sculptures made with sand packed in a form;
P for free-pile (no forms);
H for hybrid sculptures using formed and free-piled sand;
M for multiple piles; and
B for the rare bas-relief.
Some sculptures receive a name based on what I'm thinking or feeling, or a good suggestion from a passerby.
Example: 99H-2, "Boulders".
