Comments (from my 1996 notes)

"The day had too much sunshine for me to stay indoors. I hit the beach at about noon. Steady onshore breeze kept everything damp. Removing 5 inches of overburden exposed good sand, but it contained lots of shells. The sculpture was OK. Best move was a deep slot, with one pillar cut back. Best new tool was the big potter's rib, great for making long concave surfaces. Lots of people on the beach. I was tired and a little rushed."
